Symptoms of an Infected Tooth
WHAT IS ROOT CANAL TREATMENT AND WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
Root Canal Treatment
If there is an infection deep within the tooth, the ‘pulp' inside the tooth can become infected with bacteria. This may be due to an old injury or because of an untreated cavity. If left untreated this could turn into a very painful abscess, and it can also lead to other severe conditions such as illness, blood poisoning or fever, you may end up needing to get the tooth removed completely! What is the Procedure for Root Canal Therapy?
Root Canal Therapy requires cleaning out the damaged and infected tissue within the tooth. We make a small hole in the top of the tooth and using the latest in dental technology remove the damaged part of the root, clean the area and fill it. We then need to place a cap over the tooth which we can do in the same appointment using our CEREC technology.

Root Canal Treatment FAQs
Are there any alternatives to Root Canal Therapy?
Unfortunately, once the root of the tooth is infected the only other alternative is to remove the tooth. Here at TL Dental, we believe in providing the best and most conservative treatment possible for your particular dental problem. Hence, we don't recommend this unless it is indeed the only option.
