Veneers are essentially wafer-thin shells that are carefully handcrafted to look exactly how you want your smile to look, and then bonded to your teeth. Your existing teeth will undergo preparation before your veneers are fitted, so that you can have exactly the shape you want. Porcelain has a translucent quality that resembles natural tooth enamel so closely, it’s impossible to tell the difference between veneers and your original teeth. And it’s hard and durable just like natural teeth, so your veneers will function just like the rest of your smile.
Porcelain veneers are expensive because they are handcrafted by extremely highly-trained technicians using state of the art technology and premium materials. They are by far the longest-lasting, most natural looking way to correct the shape and shade of your teeth, but if they don’t fit the budget, you can consider composite veneers.
